Volunteer Descriptions
Below you will find descriptions of our different roles for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our volunteer application at the bottom of this page.
Level I – Daybreak Pro Abundant Life Team Member (PAL)
- No client interaction
- Assist with mailings, fundraising, organizing in the Baby Boutique, filing, church liaison
- Receive prayer updates via our Facebook Prayer Group
Requirements
- Submit Volunteer Application and sign Statement of Faith, Code of Christian Conduct, Volunteer Commitment & Confidentiality Agreement
- Attend Daybreak General Orientation with Director of Client Services (1 hour)
- Complete OSHA general safety quiz (ONLINE)
- Keep connected via newsletters, email & social media
Level II – Office Volunteer
- Some client interaction (no one-on-one advising in consultation rooms).
- Assist by answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering confidential client information in our database, greeting clients when they arrive and assisting clients in the Baby Boutique
Requirements
- Submit Volunteer Application and sign Statement of Faith, Code of Christian Conduct, Volunteer Commitment & Confidentiality Agreement, & agree to a background check
- Meet with the Director of Client Services for an interview
- Watch Daybreak Orientation Video (ONLINE)
- Attend on-the-job training for paperwork, client services, fundraising, etc.
- Complete OSHA general safety quiz (ONLINE- office only)
- Work in center at least once a month
- Attend supplemental training sessions as requested by the Director of Client Services
Level III – Client Advocate, Male Mentor or Sonographer/Nurse Volunteer
- Direct client interaction (one-on-one consultations, education, medical procedures)
- Client Advocates & Male Mentors conduct consultation sessions with clients
Requirements
- Submit Volunteer Application and sign Statement of Faith, Code of Christian Conduct, Volunteer Commitment & Confidentiality Agreement, & agree to a background check
- Meet with the Ministry Director for an interview
- Complete Daybreak Orientation & Client interaction training videos (ONLINE)
- Complete OSHA general safety training and quiz (ONLINE)
- Attend other trainings as required by a particular ministry area (i.e. medical, etc.)
- Complete in-house training (DVDs, brochures/literature, etc.)
- Observation hours (as dictated by Director of Client Services)
- Attend a minimum of 2 enhancement trainings throughout the year (apx. 2 hours each)
- Work in the Center at least once/week (Client Advocates); Once/month (Male Mentors or Sonographers)
- Annual review by an appropriate ministry director
- Sonographers (RDMS) perform limited OB ultrasounds
- Nurse Volunteers (RN) conduct well-checks, distribute prenatal vitamins, conduct pregnancy testing and STD/STI testing, teach Birthing/Parenting classes.
Level IV – Abortion Recovery Assistance (ARA) Facilitator
- Facilitate Biblical healing via the Forgiven and Set Free post-abortion Bible study.
Requirements
- Submit Volunteer Application and sign Statement of Faith, Code of Christian Conduct, Volunteer Commitment & Confidentiality Agreement, & agree to a background check
- Meet with the Director of Client Services for an interview
- Complete Daybreak Orientation & Client interaction training videos (ONLINE)
- Complete OSHA general safety training and quiz (ONLINE)
- Attend ARA Facilitator Training (offered 2x/year)
- Serve as an ARA trainee for 1 Bible study group (if you have not completed the study yourself)
- Annual review by Director of Client Services.
