1. Visit the Blythewood Farmers Market
Take a stroll through the Blythewood Farmers Market, where local farmers, bakers, artisans, and other vendors offer a variety of locally produced goods. The market also features activities for children, live music, and food throughout its season.

2. Cool Off at a Pool or Splash Pad
A pool or splash pad can be a great way for children to cool off during Columbia’s hot summer months.

One newer option is the splash pad at Finlay Park, which opened for its summer season in 2026 and is located near the park’s children’s playscape.
